Sportsbook Tier List

Sportsbook Tier List

Monthly, our good friend Promoguy does an “EV Rankings” of sportsbooks based on their current promo agendas.. This sounded fun, so here we are with Best SportsBooks for You

Some hot takes. Some business model love, and a whole bunch of opinions (reread that last word… OPINIONS). Let’s dive in

S Tier - Love, absolute Love

Betonline : A king on the throne, solo and awaiting competition. When we reached out to TPG saying I'd be typing this, his first guess was BOL on top. Of course: A sportsbook who is first to market with openers, has a set max that essentially all accounts can play, the most insane one off prop displays imaginable (even if only for 50$.. I’m salty but understand why you don't want more action on “Shirtless during halftime show” for any real $), not the best boosts but certainly offerings which are best in the offshore space, and a face of brand active on twitter in Dave Mason. Great company, great business model. S Tier. Only downside is their rollover on some referral plans are INSANE, though so are all offshores

A Tier - Deserve their praise

B365 : A Euro/English transplant which our Boosts guy BettorBoosts on twitter rated first in his rating system. Ton of options daily to take their lines (which are already valued fairly, mixed with alot of best in market prices) and make them better. They accept solid amounts of overnight steam and seem to not limit as fast as alot of the primary american outlets. A TON of markets and bet types, B365 is quickly building up its market share in the US for good reason.

Kambi : Kambi 3rd place, something must be wrong. Listen.. I get it, Kambi operators are sitting ready to limit you. But until then, they are the most willing to take a bet on a crappy number company I’ve ever seen. Every day, their in-house player projections team builds out their complex models and spit props to the market place that’ll INSTANTLY have 6-7% EV.. and these guys will leave them up for a half hr+.. Is 3rd place too far, probably as most people can't bet into their accounts anymore. But shout out to Kambi

Pinnacle : Falling to the bottom of tier A is the 2 powerhouses. Issue i have with them for the average bettor is.. We look at Pinny and Circa main lines as best in market, price you should deem sharp.. Then why bet here? Wouldn’t you want as far away a price as you can? You must respect what Pinny has brought to the betting markets, they give an anchor for many books to shape their lines, but what keeps them in Tier A is the fact they offer decent limits on their player props, which aren’t best in market. A combination of accepting bets from everyone as well as their historic rep, Pinny stays in

Circa : Circa is another powerhouse in which.. I dont want their mainlines. If you’re betting high roller, Circa is S tier for you.. But most aren’t, so then you’re only on props here. Circa… doesn’t really have many prop options for you.. BUT the reason they’ll stay A tier is that no matter the options, they offer 2 way markets for almost all of it. Willing to take both sides, i can get with that

Bookmaker : Almost identical rational to Circa

B tier - Good Sportsbooks, stand out from average

Fanduel : As Fanduel continues to develop, their prop offerings are getting… pretty sharp. So almost in a “don't want to pay sharp price” for pinnacle on FD props. But not giving them that much love here. They offer good boosts, a wide variety of bet options, and even when limited will take main market stuff for good coin. Con is lack of 2 way markets, high hold on alot of these 1 ways, and the weird pinch hit rules in MLB. But overall, Fanduel is a solid book with great UI

Draftkings : This one could sneak into C, but for the avg bettor their Promos are very good and can help quickly impact a bankroll. Low limits so don’t expect to go to Fiji just yet + their lines are average at best and move away from EV positions quick & will limit you without hesitation. But if youre betting an amount where Promos can positively impact the BR, DK makes it to B tier

C Tier: Nothing Special (If needed, would bet here)

No discussion, these are very average books with a few unique quirks to move around C but overall.. EH. ESPN i know has some good promos but trash lines, Fanatics Jersey promo bc who doesnt love a jersey.. Also HR is Florida, which left my account live for nearly 6 months. Heard quick limit experiences, which would move this to end of C or 1st of F

ESPN,CZR, HR, Fanatics

F tier : Sweepstake Sketch

Fliff : Fliff is tough.. On one hand they do host a lot of stale lines, which for bettors you could say hey! B Tier.. but there aren't many books where i'm worried about the balance sitting in my account or if a win is graded L and we won’t be getting that reversed. Promos are a joke but i am a fan of the UI. so first place F (note i do have a Fliff and do use it time to time.. But do i recommend the risk reward, not really)

Rebet : Same uneasy feeling of money in an acc, but now with a FAR worse UI + 1/5th the stale lines. It has its place, but its place isn’t on my phone

Honorable Mentions (just came out)

NoVig : (Start of B).. Believe if Novigs current app and business model work, they will be a top of B spot. Their team has built open liquidity, no limit account spaces which host sides and totals blanketed under the Sweepstakes brand allowing a ton of users a fair shot at a good book. I love the business model and root for their success

ProphetX : (End of B) Another Sweepstake entrant which will give users some of the best prices in market to many states that didnt have books available. End of B due to the fact their low prices come with a “hidden” cost of exchange tax. (its not hidden, its very well discussed. But when a user is placing a bet, most dont do the quick math to see true price after fees). Another great book in theory

Overall: More books = good. The landscape is changing and excited to see what books continue to innovate & spin legislation to keep their ability to offer a fair product to the masses.
